The eyes are generally the first area of the face to show signs of aging. Over time, the lids of the eye can begin to puff and sag due to decreased skin elasticity in conjunction with the development of fatty deposits around the eye. Eyelid surgery, also called blepharoplasty, is a relatively simple procedure with a rapid recovery time. We only perform upper blepharoplasties. For upper blepharoplasty, Dr. Hand first makes an incision along the crease of the upper lid and snips away any excess skin and closes the incision. There is little or no visible scarring.  Results of eyelid surgery are fantastic.(Before and after photos) Patients who undergo eyelid surgery usually emerge look years younger.
